Hillsboro -- Mary Jennie Lyon, age 87, a resident here nearly all her life died at 11 a. m. Tuesday, Oct. 9, in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Danville, Ill., where she had been a patient since Sunday. Mrs. Lyon had lived in recent years at the Rudisill Nursing Homes in Crawfordsville and Covington. Born here Aug. 26, 1875, she was a daughter of John and Amelia Booe Willis. She married William Lyon, a former Hillsboro postmaster. He died Jan. 26, 1960. Mrs. Lyon was a member of the Hillsboro Methodist Church and a charter member of the Women's Missionary Society. She served as assistant postmaster here for a number of years while her husband was postmaster. A daughter, Margaret Lyon, preceded her mother in death. Surviving are four nieces and three nephews. She was the last survivor of her family. Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Thursday at the Crumley Funeral Home. The Rev. Ross Kirk will officiate. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery.
